The state of Nevada celebrated the Nevada Strong Start Child Care Services Center’s (CCSC) official opening in a recent press release.
The CCSC, which officially opened on July 14, will operate as a platform for new and current child care providers seeking assistance with licensing and startup fees.
In addition, the center will help child care providers direct parents to accessible services and benefits.
“The Department of Health and Human Services works in partnership with many agencies as we support Nevadans, and our child care partnership with The Children’s Cabinet is key in our work to help families,” Karissa Loper Machado, Agency Manager for the Child Care and Development Program in the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services stated, “We have all had a time where we were looking for resources, support, supplies or ideas and this Center offers that for our child care providers.”
Reno’s new CCSC, which mirrors a facility opened earlier this year in Las Vegas, was reportedly established to foster cross-sector collaboration and systems that are connected, organized and focused on addressing the needs of child care providers throughout the state.
“Since the Las Vegas launch, The Children’s Cabinet has been honored to be part of this public-private partnership and to see the new way we are collectively able to better serve our child care providers and families,” Marty Elquist, The Children’s Cabinet’s Department Director stated, “All children and families deserve access to high-quality early learning opportunities and child care providers must be supported to meet the demand for this essential service.”
CCSC seeks to support child care providers and families throughout the state in collaboration with local organizations such as the Children’s Cabinet and the Nevada Division of Welfare and Supportive Services.
