Better Nevada PAC said Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford should focus on high gas prices affecting Nevada families instead of joining a multistate press conference on mergers and monopolies.
The group issued the criticism in a May 11 post on X, referencing a media advisory announcing Ford’s participation in a virtual press conference with Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield, California Attorney General Rob Bonta, Washington Attorney General Nick Brown, and New York Attorney General Letitia James.
Gas prices in Nevada have remained elevated, with some areas reporting prices near $5 per gallon. Nevada’s fuel supply has been affected by California refinery operations and environmental regulations, according to The Nevada Independent.
The May 11 press conference focused on consumer protection and state responses to mergers and monopolies amid federal enforcement changes. Rayfield said states need resources to address corporate consolidation issues that can affect consumer costs, according to the Oregon Department of Justice.
Better Nevada PAC says it supports Gov. Joe Lombardo and Republican candidates in Nevada by advancing pro-growth initiatives and holding public officials accountable on affordability and other issues, according to the group’s website.
